Obituary of Gloria A. Spadora

Gloria A. Spadora, 66, of Lowville, New York formerly of Ramsay, Montana and Franklin, New York passed away Friday, November 24, 2023 in Watertown, New York with her loving family by her side. She was born July 2, 1957 in Butte, Montana to William W. and Gloria J. Hazlett and was a graduate of Butte High School. Gloria earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Montana State University in 1979 and her Master’s degree in Reading from S.U.N.Y. Potsdam. Gloria began her career as an educator in the elementary and special education programs at Monforton School in Bozeman, Montana. She relocated to New York where she was employed with Walton Central School, Downsville Central School, Lowville Academy, St. Peter’s Catholic School and retired from Jefferson-Lewis B.O.C.E.S. in 2017. Upon her retirement, Gloria taught at Holy Family School in Watertown. She was a member of the New York State Teacher’s Retirement System and the Lowville Teacher’s Union. As a member of the Lowville Teacher’s Union, she was active in the national “Adopt-a-Platoon” effort which provides care packages for soldiers serving overseas. Gloria also worked alongside her husband, Peter in their company, Spadora on Sports where she served as Vice President. She was a communicant and member of the choir at St. Peter’s Church in Lowville. Gloria is survived by her husband of 44 years, Peter J. Spadora of Lowville; her sons, Peter (Laura) Spadora of Ogdensburg and Derek Spadora of Franklin; her granddaughters, Miranda, Madeline and Lauren Spadora; her brothers, William (Linda) Hazlett, Jr. of Ramsay, MT, Dan (Sue) Hazlett of Superior, MT, Charles (Denise) Hazlett of Ramsay, MT and Daryl (Wendy) Hazlett of Buxton, MT; her sisters, Debbie (Gary) Brackett of Ramsay. MT, Diana Rodrigues of Park City, UT and Doreen (Kevin) young of Three Forks, MT. She was predeceased by her parents, William W. and Gloria J. Hazlett.
