Obituary of Michelle J. Stanard

Michelle J. Stanard, 59, of Volney passed away Sunday, October 19, 2025 at St. Joseph’s Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was born in Syracuse on September 8, 1966 to Leland and Janet Amond. Michelle was a graduate of Cicero-North Syracuse High School and earned her Associate’s degree in Medical Billing from Bryant & Stratton College. She was employed in medical billing and insurance for 30 years for several local companies including State Farm. Michelle was a member of the Fulton Lions Club since 2009 and was their longtime secretary and a past president. She was the recipient of the Robert Uplinger Award in recognition of her service to the community. Michelle was a cat lover, enjoyed country western line dancing and 2 stepping. She was loved by many and will be remembered for always smiling, laughing and having a good time. Michelle is survived by her husband of 30 years, Lauren K. Stanard of Volney; her sister, Cheryl Tant of Tennessee; her brother, Dale (Kim) Amond of Liverpool; her nephew, Kevin Amond; her niece, Kate Lynn as well as several great nieces and great nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her in-laws, Lauren P. and Elsie Stanard. Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, October 23, 2025 with services to follow at Brown Funeral Home, 21 Flood Drive in Fulton.
