Obituary of William F. McCarty

William F. “Bill” McCarty, 69, of Fulton passed away Monday, June 16, 2025. He was born February 24, 1956 in Fulton to Albert W. and Mary J. McCarty and was a graduate of Oswego High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1978, earned the rank of Sergeant and served as a chemical instructor. Bill was stationed in Germany, Korea and Alabama until taking an early retirement and honorable discharge in 1992. Bill then returned to Fulton and retired from Huhtamaki after 15 years of employment. Bill was a member of the American Legion and V.F.W. He enjoyed traveling, barbecuing, fishing and spending time outdoors. He is survived by his children, Christopher McCarty, Amanda Talamo, Jamie McCarty and Joey McCarty; his brother, Albert McCarty; his sister, Diane Turner; eight grandchildren, Nicholas, Layla, Colton, Elizabeth, Hannah, Matthew, Timothy and Patrysha.; three great grandchildren, Aidan, Kyren and Levi; his companion of 35 years, Dorothy Mills and her daughter, Wendy Holden. Calling hours will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, June 28, 2025 with services to follow at Brown Funeral Home, 21 Flood Drive in Fulton.
